Left hand, right holster is one of my most read blogs. I followed this story from Vancouver, Canada, down to Sanford, Florida and all points, where ever the story led. Although I didn’t personally know Trayvon Martin, I was touched by this story because I realized that Trayvon could have been anyone’s son and that a mother and father now had empty arms where there child used to fit securely.
I was initially contacted by someone claiming to be the victim of the shooting, Trayvon Martin, asking for help in signing a petition and bringing awareness to what happened. At the point she contacted me, the police had done nothing and were not going to press charges against the shooter, George Zimmerman. I decided to look further into this story to see what happened. What I found, shocked me. I will never be able to forget who either Trayvon Martin or George Zimmerman were.
I watched the entire trial of George Zimmerman, including the horrific evidence of Trayvon’s bullet ridden 17 year old body, his clothes and the re-enactment by George of what he says happened. He was acquitted of charges and remains a free man to this day, even though he’s been involved in several violent incidences involving a gun. Today he is in the news yet again, and if I were not already sick to my stomach about the evidence I saw, this next news bit, really made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
George Zimmerman shot 17 year old Trayvon Martin because he assumed Trayvon was up to no good while walking home in the rain, back to his father and his girlfriend’s place. The gun was kept in evidence since 2013 since he shot young Trayvon and was recently released to George. Ready for a shock? He intends to make money off of the same gun that only is valuable because it killed a 17 year old black male in the United States. Blood money? Of course. This isn’t his first try to gain money from killing this young man either. If you were following along before, he also had a PayPal account before his trial stating it was for his living expenses which he and his then wife, tore through with no paper trail and then lied to a judge in the bond conditions stating they had no money.
George Zimmerman is setting the starting bid at $5000USD.
As part of the reason he decided to sell the gun:
“The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012. … Many have expressed interest in owning and displaying the firearm including The Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C. This is a piece of American History.” ~ George Zimmerman
As of 9:09 a.m. PST, the gun has been pulled from the auction hosted by Gunbroker.com
Checking to see if $5000USD is a good price for the KelTec PF9, used to kill 17 year old Trayvon Martin, it’s not. Not even close for a used Keltec PF9. In fact, I found the same gun for sale as shown here and has only a bid for $249USD.
So why would George be selling the gun?
He surely doesn’t care that he killed someone’s teen son or the pain it caused, not only in the United States by people of all walks of life, but around the world. I’m not sure too many people haven’t heard about what happened, if only just to remember hearing the name George Zimmerman.
George is selling it because he thinks someone out there will pay big money for a gun used to kill someone. There sure are strange people in this world aren’t there? People will collect all kinds of things which others would questio. So he is selling it for the money he got for spilling a child’s blood. Nice. Says a lot about his character.
Wait a minute! Trayvon smoked weed and got in trouble. He wasn’t an angel!
Well no, Trayvon was not an angel, but are any of us? Can we honestly look in the mirror and say, “I’m so perfect that I can point out anyone else’s imperfections, except my own, because I’m perfect.” Let’s face it, there are no perfect people or angels who walk among us. There are only people, who have flaws. Pointing out a 17 year old’s flaws in life, which had nothing to do with what happened that night, is morbid to say the least.
My question is why? Why do people claim to know something based on what they speculate and don’t actually know? It’s okay to assume something but if it comes back on you, that’s on you.
George Zimmerman will live on in the media
He really is a poster child for ratings. I know when I see a story about him, I have to look to see what he’s done now. The media stretch the story as far as they can get without paying attention to the real reason behind the story they dive in to. The media need the higher ratings to bring in the money they need to pay the people who make the stories about the people they don’t know but only hear about. Personally I wish that the media just stopped giving him attention and let him fade away. The gun ad being removed on the one site, doesn’t mean it’s been removed on other sites either. He may have just decided to remove his name.
Gunbroker.com stepped away from the sale of a child killer’s gun, however, UnitedGunGroup.com didn’t. They allowed George to post an ad on their site, which went down almost immediately and has not returned.
Although they tried to say they aren’t responsible for users ads, the other site had no problem pulling the ad because they didn’t feel it fit their site. The second site did this to gain publicity. Guess United Gun Group got a little more attention than they thought they would. Glad the site went down. Hopefully the owners will gain some morals.
The original posted ad before the site took down the ad.
The response on Twitter from United Gun Group:
Although the United Gun Group site went down yesterday, it came back up and bidding for the gun has reached an astronomical $65 million dollars. As you can clearly see, the bids are from trolls. Orenthal Simpson – OJ Simpson. Trayvon Martin is the young man who was fatally shot by George.
Update #3: United Gun Group ad is deleted…for now
My final thoughts:
People can kill others with pretty much any weapon, but guns seem to be the major choice. It’s not the fault of the KelTec PF9 that George Zimmerman loaded the gun, cocked it and pulled the trigger to kill a 17 year old boy. The fault lies squarely on the person who shoots the gun. A bullet doesn’t care what skin color or religion you follow. A bullet goes where it’s aimed and does what it’s meant to do. People shouldn’t make money from the death of another, which they caused. That is blood money which they never would have had, had they not killed a living person. What a claim to fame. I will never support any person who harms another. I will never support what George Zimmerman did because, the behavior he exhibited that deadly day, was similar to many incidents prior to that day. I’ve heard and seen too many things to ever believe that what happened was self-defense.
Thanks for reading my blog and have a super day.
