Things my BFF taught me
Throughout our lives, we meet many people and have many different relationships. Some relationships teach us good things and others leave us with bad memories and a cart full of luggage.
I believe some people come into our lives for a day, a year or a lifetime but that each person leaves something of themselves behind. We all have those friends who turn to us only when there is a crisis in their life and are gone the second it’s over. We can’t look at how long we were friends but rather remember the times we were friends and cherish those memories. We must learn to be thankful for every person who is lucky enough to be part of our lives.
I am lucky to have a great teacher in my life. He has been a part of my life for 34 years and is wise beyond anything he may even know. He has taught me how to love myself and then helped me to love him too. He has taught me trust of myself so I could trust him too. He has taught me that not every touch is bad, that not every word can hurt and that my past doesn’t represent who I am.
Love is the most important lesson he taught me. Love replaced all the pain and torment I carried. What a great feeling. When you have love, you have the best thing you could ever hope or wish for. I love him and he loves me. That’s all that matters.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from the person you’re the closest to? Thanks for reading my blog.
